A trending and shocking news hits twitter and other social media platforms after Denise Laurel unexpectedly received unwanted messages, threats, and disrespectful tweets. The popular and talented kapamilya actress reportedly became a victim of mistaken identity.
A report said Denise Laurel's twitter account gained negative tweets after a netizen allegedly tweeted to her the mauling of Vhong Navarro. The actress said she was mistakenly identified as Deniece Millet Cornejo, who has accused "It's Showtime" host of rape. Denise admitted she was traumatized by the incident.
"I was slightly traumatized because people are tweeting me. Hundreds of them even cursed me online. They want me dead since they believe I am Deniece Cornejo," Laurel said.
"Magkaparehas man kami ng tunog ng pangalan, mali ang spelling, magkaiba ng personality, magkaiba na tao. Hindi ako 'yung Deniece na 'yon," the actress stressed.
Despite the horrifying incident she had online, Denise Laurel said she doesn't have any plan of changing her name. She mentioned her name is already established in the show business industry for over 17 years.
Would you believe that thousands of netizens mistakenly identified Denise Laurel to be the controversial model, Deniece Cornejo?
Let's be realistic here.
Are the Filipino netizens dumb enough to distinguish the true Cornejo?
Come to think of this. Deniece's face is all over the web, on television, tabloids, etc. for nearly a month now. Would you believe that someone would think Denise Laurel as the alleged controversial rape victim of Vhong Navarro?
No way! I would rather think that this could be a work of some PRs who want Denise Laurel to gain publicity out of the controversial news of Deniece Cornejo.
