CAVITE, Philippines—The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of two illegal aliens in Cavite this week.

BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr., reported the arrest of Nigerian nationals James Ifeanyi Ezenwali, 52, and Nneji Victor Otamba, 54, on Wednesday in General Trias, Cavite.

The arrest, according to Manahan, was conducted in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and officials of Barangay Navarro.

Both were arrested following a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, after acting on several complaints from members of the community.

The duo has reportedly rented units in the area for almost two years, and was said to be violent, and would verbally abuse neighbors.

Investigation showed that both were already overstaying, and upon arrest were also unable to present their passports, deeming them undocumented aliens.

“Foreign nationals who are a threat to society are considered undesirable aliens,” said Morente. “Our country treats foreigners with hospitality, but once they become a burden to the community because of violence, then they should be deported,” he added.

The two will remain in the BI’s Warden Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings.
