BATANGAS CITY, Philippines – Western Visayas showcased its famed Guimaras mangoes at the 4th Luzon Mango Congress held June 20-21 at South Peak Garden and Events Place.

Three exhibitors from Guimaras Island represented the region, promoting fresh mangoes and various mango-based products.

Guimaras Mango Growers brought 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of fresh mangoes. McNester Food Products offered dried mangoes, mango wine, ketchup and puree. Parolas Food Products displayed an array of mango products.

The exhibitors reported total sales of 47,145 pesos ($850) over the two-day event.

Western Visayas officials said the congress provided an opportunity to promote the region’s mango industry and network with other regions.

Guimaras mangoes are nationally acclaimed for their sweetness and quality.
