Philippine authorities arrested the brother of fugitive Michael Yang, Yang Jian Xin, also known as Antonio Maestrado Lim, at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday, September 19, 2024.
Yang Jian Xin, was intercepted by a joint team of personnel from the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group, and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) at around 9:30 pm.
The arrest was made possible after the BI issued a Mission Order against Yang for violating immigration laws, specifically Section 3 of Operations Order No. SBM-2014-048 and Section 37(a) (9) in relation to Section 45 (a) (c) (e) and (f) of the Commonwealth Act 613.
According to authorities, Yang Jian Xin used a false name to set up at least 12 corporations in Cagayan De Oro and Cebu, including malls, rice mills, and a steel factory.
During the arrest, authorities seized identification cards, a firearms license, and a permit to carry firearms under the name of Antonio Lim, as well as P1.4 million pesos in cash, boxes of cigarettes, and other personal effects.
Investigations also revealed that Yang Jian Xin has a similar case to that of suspended Bamban Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and Katherine Cassandra Ong, whose birth certificates were registered late.
Yang Jian Xin is currently being held at the PAOCC’s detention facility in Pasay City for further documentation and physical custody, while the BI maintains his legal custody.
