PAGADIAN CITY, Philippines — Two students died and another was injured in a motorcycle accident Friday afternoon in Barangay Balintawak, authorities said.
The victims were riding a single motorcycle when it lost its brakes and crashed into a house along Purok Sili 3, according to initial reports from Juander Radyo News.
The driver, identified as Stanley Abrea, was a student of Saint Columban College. His two female passengers were identified as Zaipoden Tiffany and Junalyn Oliva, both students of Zamboanga del Sur National High School. They were reportedly on their way home from an outing in Barangay Palpalan when the crash occurred.
One of the passengers was declared dead on the spot, while the other female passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The driver was also brought to the hospital for treatment.
Police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The motorcycle involved is now in police custody.
