KORONADAL CITY, Philippines, Aug 8, 2025 (Reuters) – Police in the southern Philippines arrested popular vlogger Jeren Jude Bacas Nebit, known online as “Thailand Girl,” on Friday in connection with an online libel case.
Nebit, 28, was detained with a companion at a house in Southwind Subdivision, Barangay Morales, Koronadal City, at around 11:56 a.m., police chief Lt. Col. Peter Pinalgan said.
The arrest was carried out in a joint operation with police from Davao City’s San Pedro station and the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 12, based on a warrant issued on May 20, 2025, by Judge Clarissa M. Superable-Develos of the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 52.
The suspect remains in police custody pending a court-issued commitment order.
