IMUS, Cavite – Three men were arrested on Sunday for stealing a closed van in Imus, Cavite, local police reported.
The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Jomar”, “Jonel”, and “Teoderick”, were apprehended after a brief manhunt. Imus Police stated that “Jonel” was a former employee of the van’s owner, while “Jomar” is currently employed by the same owner.
Authorities tracked the stolen vehicle using CCTV footage, which showed it passing through Barangay Anabu 1C. The owner recognized two of the suspects from the footage. GPS tracking later located the van in Carmona City, but its cargo of snacks, valued at 123,000 pesos, was missing.
“Jomar” and “Jonel” confessed to the crime, stating that “Jomar” acted as a lookout while “Jonel” stole and drove the van. They allegedly sold the snacks at a local market for 80,000 pesos. “Teoderick” denied involvement in the theft.
The suspects face charges of carnapping and qualified theft.
