One person was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a commuter van on the National Highway in Barangay 1, Bais City at 8:30 pm on Sunday.
According to officials, the motorcycle driver, identified as Carlo Baquellar, a resident of Burgos Street, Barangay 1, was killed after crashing into the side of the van at the scene.
The motorcycle, which was traveling from Manjuyod to Tanjay, collided with a Toyota Hi Ace Commuter van driven by Melchor Aboy, a resident of Barangay Bulwang, Mabinay, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle driver was immediately rushed to the Bais City District Hospital but was later transferred to a hospital in Dumaguete for further treatment.
No other details of the accident were available.
