A businessman who was allegedly involved in a shooting incident that killed Conrad Cosares in Mandaue City last January was arrested by police in Argao, Cebu on Tuesday.
Rolando Pantinople, also known as “Enting” or “Tingting”, 46, was nabbed by elements of the City Intelligence Unit, Police Station 2, and SWAT members of Mandaue City Police Office (MCPPO), together with personnel of Argao Police Station, after they served a search warrant issued by Judge Noel Darren Damian of Regional Trial Court-Argao Branch 26.
The police recovered several firearms and ammunition from Pantinople’s residence in Sitio Malacorong, Barangay Usmad. These include two cal .45 pistols, one cal .40 pistol, one M16 assault rifle, two shotguns, one cal .22 rifle with silencer, one Montero Pyrenees black vehicle with plate number AED 6341 and assorted live ammos and empty shells.
According to MCPPO chief Col. Jonathan Abella, Pantinople was identified as the suspect of the shooting incident that happened on January 31 along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City. Cosares was shot dead by an unidentified gunman who fled using the Montero vehicle.
Abella said that they traced the vehicle through a CCTV footage and a witness who reported seeing it in Argao. He added that Pantinople is a lending investor for casino players and has previous cases of illegal possession of firearms.
Pantinople is now detained at MCPPO while facing charges for murder and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
