Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod, a local theater group in Cebu, is inviting the public to watch their Christmas special theater presentation, “Laptop”, a play that depicts the struggles and joys of Filipinos living and working abroad.

The play, written and directed by Msgr. Agustin Velez Ancajas, the founder of the theater group, is celebrating its 50th run since it premiered in London in 2011. It is also marking the 30th anniversary of Msgr. Ancajas’ writing for the stage.

The play features a new cast of talented actors who will bring to life the stories of OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) and their families. The play aims to raise awareness and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of OFWs to the country and the world.

The play is in partnership with NUSTAR Resort, Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod, SM Seaside City Cebu, and the Archdiocese of Cebu. It will be staged at the Marcelo B. Fernan Cebu Press Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City on December 20 and 21, with matinee and gala shows. The gala shows will include dinner catering for the audience.

The December 19 shows are sponsored by Nustar and are reserved for the families of OFWs as a gesture of gratitude and solidarity.

Tickets for the play are now available online through a Google form. Interested viewers can check the link below to reserve and purchase their tickets. They can also see the instructions posted in the first photo below.
