In partnership with the Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) advanced its “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” for the benefit its CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) and their dependents in Ditulan Patrol Base, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on July 12, 2021.
The activity was headed by Dumingag OPLAN Amuma Executive Director Ronel Cabilan and was participated by 53IB Bravo “Boulders” Company Commander 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia; MHO Dra. Jukanra Panugao; Dr. Reynaldo Vasquez; Ditulan Barangay Chairwoman Vilma Repaso; and representatives from BFP, PNP, and Municipal Planning and Development Office.
Activities for Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program included free visitation check-up, operation tuli, dental mission, giving of free medicines, giving of food packs composed of rice and canned goods, giving of uniforms, free haircut, and a lecture on the CAAs’ Individual Scorecard.
The Adopt-a-CAFGU Project is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
