Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade was conferred the Order of Lakandula with the rank “Bayani” (Grand Cross), by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte!
This conferment aims to recognize the steadfast and visionary leadership of Secretary Tugade, as well as his indispensable contribution in shaping and transforming the country’s transportation landscape, through the realization of various transport infrastructure projects—from aviation and airports, road, railways, up to the maritime sector of the country—under the “Build, Build, Build” Program.
As one of the highest honors given by the Republic of the Philippines, the Order of Lakandula is an order of political and civic merit, awarded to well-deserved individuals who exemplifies dedication and commitment to the responsibilities of leadership, prudence, fortitude, courage and resolve, in the service of the Filipino people.
