The Philippines made a strong impression as a premier destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) at the M&C Asia Connections 2023 (MCAC 2023), the leading MICE trade show in Asia, held on 16-17 August 2023 in Singapore.
The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism, led a delegation of five Philippine MICE industry players, namely: Amorita Resort Bohol, Bluewater Resorts, Conrad Manila, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Philippines, and SMX Convention Center.
They showcased the country’s world-class facilities, experienced professionals, and a wide array of attractions to potential buyers from around the world.
TPB generated 144 pre-scheduled business appointments for MCAC 2023, where they presented the Philippines’ MICE brand, “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”, which highlights the country’s unique selling proposition of fun and memorable experiences.
The Philippine delegation successfully brought home 40 good business leads approximately valued at USD 3,157,351.00 or PhP 173,654,305.00 (should these leads materialize in the next 2-3 years) and established valuable connections.
MCAC 2023 served as a platform to unite buyers and sellers from around the world to connect, network, and do business. It also featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops on the latest trends and best practices in the MICE industry. The event was attended by over 300 participants from 25 countries.
TPB’s participation in MCAC 2023 is part of its efforts to promote the Philippines as a MICE destination in the international market and to support the recovery of the tourism sector amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
TPB aims to attract more MICE events to the country and to showcase its readiness and resilience in hosting safe and successful events.
