The Villar Foundation, a non-government organization that promotes social justice and sustainable development, is now accepting nominees or entries from all over the country for the 2023 Villar SIPAG Awards on Poverty Reduction.
The Villar SIPAG Awards, which stands for Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance, aim to recognize good practices or innovations in community enterprises that generate jobs and increase household income. It will also highlight outstanding initiatives of community enterprises as models of good practices in income poverty reduction.
The awards are open to community enterprises that are engaged in agriculture, fisheries, microfinance, social enterprise, cooperatives, or livelihood projects. The nominees or entries must have been operational for at least three years and must have a positive impact on the lives of their members and beneficiaries.
The top 20 winners of the Villar SIPAG Awards will each receive ₱250,000 in cash and a trophy. They will also be featured in the Villar SIPAG website and social media platforms, and will be invited to participate in learning and networking activities organized by the Villar Foundation.

The Villar SIPAG Awards were launched in 2015 as part of the Villar Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebration. Since then, the awards have recognized and supported 100 community enterprises from different regions of the country. The awards are part of the Villar Foundation’s vision of empowering Filipinos to become self-reliant and productive members of society.
