The Talisay City Police Station, under the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO), conducted the operation at the back of Gaisano Fiesta Mall, Purok Matinumanon, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, around 11:12 p.m.

The suspects were identified as John Doe and Jane Doe, both residents of the said barangay. They were considered as high-value targets by the police due to their involvement in the illegal drug trade in the area.

According to Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) Director PBGen Anthony Aberin, the police operatives recovered 425 grams of shabu with an estimated standard drug price value of PhP2,890,000.00 from the suspects’ possession.

PBGen Aberin lauded the successful operation and said that it was a result of the cooperation and coordination of PRO7, CPPO, and the community.

He added that PRO7 will continue to pursue those involved in illegal drugs as part of the whole-government initiative of the BIDA Program of SILG Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr., and the 5-Focused Agenda of PNP.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Comelec Gun Ban.
