The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in the MIMAROPA Region has awarded 177 land titles to qualified beneficiaries in Romblon province, as part of its “Handog Titulo Program Para sa Mamamayan” initiative.

The program, which is a collaborative effort with the Registry of Deeds and Local Government Units (LGUs), aims to streamline the land titling process and provide formal land titles to property owners. The awarding of the titles marks the agency’s observance of Handog Titulo Month, as per DENR Memorandum Circular No. 2019-04.

The beneficiaries of the program will receive a range of benefits, including formal land titles, which will provide legal ownership and protection against land disputes. With a formal title, landowners can use their property as collateral for loans, opening up opportunities for business ventures and financial stability. Titled land generally has a higher market value, which can enhance the economic standing of the beneficiaries.

The program also provides individuals and families with peace of mind, knowing that their property rights are recognized and protected by law.

The awarding ceremony was attended by DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director Felix S. Mirasol, Jr., Congressman Eleandro Jesus Madrona, Vice Governor Armin Gutierrez, Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic, Vice Mayor Diven Dimaala, and Atty Renie Catajay, Deputy, Register of Deeds.

The DENR team in Romblon was also present, with PENRO Cesar Odi, Management Services Division Chief Thelmo Hernandez, Regulation and Permitting Section Chief Allan Sendiong, and other staff members in attendance.

The “Handog Titulo Program” is a program of the DENR, aimed at providing formal land titles to property owners and promoting land ownership and development in the country.
