Headquarters, Naval Forces Central (HNFC), Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, November 4, 2021 – Naval Forces Central headed by its Commander, Naval Forces Central, COMMO ERNESTO O BALDOVINO PN, hosted a simple commemoration of its 44th Founding Anniversary themed: NAVYSAYAS @ 44: Your Partner in Forging Peaceful and Prosperous Maritime Nation Amidst new Challenges in the entire Visayas region (“Inyong kaabag sa pag gama sa malinawon og malambuon nga kadagatan ug pag atubang sa bag-ong hagit sa tibuok Kabisay-an”) held at Lapu-Lapu Hall, HNFC, Naval Base Rafael Ramos, Brgy. Looc, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on November 2, 2021.
The event was presided by no less than the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy, VADM ADELUIS S BORDADO PN. He was accorded with sideboys honors and was warmly welcomed by Team NFC. VADM BORDADO PN was accompanied by members of the HPN Central Staff namely: CAPT ESTELITO B LAGADIA JR PN(GSC), Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Personnel, N1; CAPT MARCO N BUENA PN(GSC), AC of NS for Intelligence, N2; CAPT SERGIO M BARTOLOME PN(GSC), AC of NS for Naval Sea Systems Engineering, N11; CAPT REDENTOR R CORTEZANO PN(GSC), AC of NS for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, N9 and MCPO Rosimalu D Galgao PN, Command, Master Chief Petty Officer, Philippine Navy, Ms Rowena Tatad and LT MARK GLADYS S SEGUNDO PN, Flag Lieutenant. It was the Official Visit of the FOIC, PN at NFC and also part of Traditional Christmas Visit for 2021, his first among all the units of the Philippine Navy.
The highlight of the program was the awarding of plaques of recognition to the Exemplary Officer, Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Human Resource, Vessel of the Year, Best Sail Plan Implementing Office, OPCON Shore unit, and Reservist unit of the Year. Likewise, Plaques of Appreciation were given to NFC partner stakeholders in recognition for their selfless efforts and contributions to the Command’s missions and accomplishments.
In his remarks, COMMO BALDOVINO PN stated, “NAVFORCEN remains steadfast and made remarkable feats as vanguards of Central Philippines’ seas.” He quoted, “The achievement of an organization are the results of the combined efforts of every individual”, he added.
On his anniversary message, VADM BORDADO stated, “May we be reminded that we are a profession which is actively and directly responsible for securing the sovereignty, and protecting the territorial integrity of our country. In today’s anniversary celebration, Naval Forces Central, as one of the most crucial Naval Operating Forces of the Command, is at the forefront of protecting the waters of the Visayas Regions through continuous air and maritime patrols thereby ensuring the safe and free transit of domestic and international shipping platforms.”
He added, “Bravo Zulu! Keep up the best work! The Command trusts you with tremendous responsibilities here in the Visayas region. With this is the certainty that you will all continue to perform your duties with competence and the best of your abilities. Again, Team NAVFORCEN, Bravo Zulu and Happy 44th Anniversary!”.
The said activity was conducted in accordance with IATF protocols on health and biosafety protocols amidst ongoing pandemic.
