Romel “Direk” Bernardo, a successful businessman and former writer/producer, was the guest speaker in a team building workshop of college students of Abada College in Mindoro recently at Magdalena Beach Resort.
Direk Romel shared his inspiring story of how he overcame challenges and pursued his dreams from being a student, to working in the entertainment industry, to establishing his own businesses in the province.
Direk Romel currently owns and operates heavy equipment rental, hardware and gas stations in Mindoro.
He also gave tips and advice to the students who aspire to achieve their goals and help their families.
Bernardo encouraged them to work hard, be creative, and never give up on their passions.
After the workshop, Direk Romel had lunch with a group of farmers who he helps to have their own fishery.
He lends them his backhoe and tanning crude free of charge and they only pay for the operator’s fee.
He said that this is his way of giving back to the community and supporting the local economy.
Direk Romel, president of a Rotary Club in Mindoro, is an example of a visionary leader who uses his talents and resources to make a positive impact on society.
He hopes his story will motivate and empower the next generation of leaders in Mindoro.
