Manila, Philippines: The first trainset of the Rolling Stock Contract of the PNR Clark Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos) will now undertake a series of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)!

Manufactured by Japan Transport Company and Sumitomo Corporation Joint Venture (JSJV), the Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) will help verify that the newly manufactured trainset meets its intended purpose, and its compliance on the various international standards such as ISO and JIS. FATs shall also ensure that the Rolling Stock’s equipment are correctly and fully functioning prior to shipment of the trains. The FATs are currently conducted in Japan Transport Engineering Company’s test tracks and facilities in Yokohama, Japan.

The trainset is scheduled to depart at Yokohama Port on October 2021 and will arrive at Malanday Depot on the first week of December 2021.

Aligned with the government’s Build Build Build program, the PNR Clark Phase 1 project aims to serve around 300,000 passengers daily and is expected to reduce travel time between Tutuban in Manila and Malolos in Bulacan from 1 hour and 30 minutes to just 35 minutes. (DOTr)
