At least PhP2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in one day in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the region, said PRO7 on Thursday.
At 12:10 AM on October 20, Police Station 1 of the Cebu City Police Office conducted a checkpoint at Sikatuna Street, Brgy. Parian Cebu City, a motorist, tried to avoid the checkpoint. However, he was intercepted by rear security, which resulted in his arrest for violation of Article 151 RPC.
Incidentally, upon verification, the police recovered sachets of illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia from the possession and control of the motorist.
Police arrested Rosalito Dinglasa Cañete Jr., 30, of Bulacao,Talisay City.
Seized from Cañete was a one-unit Motostar motorcycle with plate number 0701-598154, a key, a black belt bag, sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of 200 grams with a Standard Drug Price value of PhP1,360,000.00, drug paraphernalia used for repacking, a wallet with I.D. and other drug paraphernalia.
At 1:30 AM on the same day, Police Station 9, Cebu City Police Office nabbed Carlo Enriquez Alegarbes, 27, of Sitio San Pedro, Brgy. Tisa, Cebu City in an operation in Sitio Lomboy, Brgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Confiscated from the suspect were 51 grams of shabu worth PhP346,000.00, a pouch used as a container of illegal drugs, and buy-bust money.
In San Remegio, Cebu, two drug suspects identified as Fritz Jugan Alesna, 38, of Brgy. Lambusan, San Remegio, Cebu, and Jevy Dinoy Sinebal, 29, of Brgy. Kanagahan, San Remegio, Cebu.
San Remegio Municipal Police Station of Cebu Police Provincial Office arrested the two drug suspects around 3:00 AM on the same day at Brgy. Dapdap, San Remegio, Cebu.
Netted from the operation were 50 grams of shabu valued at PhP340,000.00, buy-bust money, and a belt bag used as a container.
The total seized illegal drugs in three recent operations were 301 grams of shabu worth PhP2,006,800.00.
